Beau Otto Presentation.

What we see is not what we really see, think of all the problems in the world just because what we depend on seeing. For example racism, This is based on color, just like an optical allusion. There is no human instinct that tells us that a black person is this, and a white person is that. Its not real, just perception. We go day by day seeing color as just color, but once we put a white film behind it, it changes everything. Racism and optical allusions are just like putting a purple film behind the white to change the color to brown, or black. but why does it make a difference if its on a person vs. on a sheet of paper?. There is always two sides to every conflict.

The Book Of Negroes - Lawrence Hill

-The other day when I was being led into a meeting with a bishop, one of the society ladies told another, " We must get this woman into Parliament soon. Who knows how much longer she'll be with us?" Half bent though I was , I dug my fingers into her ribs. She let out a shriek and spun around to face me. "Careful," I told her, "I may outlast you" --Pg 1
Ive chosen this connection right from the beginning of the book for a few reasons, this shows how Aminata is a powerful, strong grown woman who has traveled threw "many seasons", and has lived to tell an amazing story. Aminata has dealt with many situations and has had many outrageous outcomes. When Aminata lived in all those lands, survived all those water crossings, while others fell from bullets or been pushed off because they were to weak to survive, how did she end up being the lucky one. She had escaped violent endings even as they surround her still, and she never had the privilege to hold her own children. She worked as a slave almost her whole life, and to see everyone Else's child she had helped push out.
While Aminata was giving a presentation in front of a London school to talk to children. One girl was very interested in Aminata's life and began to ask questions. She mentioned how her parents didn't believe Aminata had traveled and been in so many places, and the child wished to meet her parents, and grandparents. " Love them good, I told her and love them big. Love them everyday" -pg 3 When I came to this quote it inspired me to always love and treat my parents with respect. Even though I already always do, I felt to do it just more then I already do. Aminata lived a horrible life with no parents, no friends, and I have everything she didnt have, and there is many people out there with a life like Aminata's who live day by day with struggles and they get through them. Take for example Homeless People, and people that have lived through the Aushwitz time period. Both have connections to Aminata because later on in the story, they are held captive, underground with nothing but the person they are linked to by the left foot. Not knowing when they would get out, or not knowing if they would live to see daylight. Homeless people struggle to have a roof over there heads at night, to get one meal a day at the greatest. In this case, Aminata went days without eating food or water, just because the Toubabo men thought they were greater.
The book of Negroes has inspired me to the fullest, and to be pround and not to complain of what I have. Aminata lived a hard, unforgetable life and people should be greatful for what they have. Not everybody lives "the good life".

The future: bum bum bum bumm..

1) Do you believe it is important to be passionate about your job?
-This seems like a reasonable question to answer but I'm stumped. I'm 50/50 about it because yes, I do believe you should be passionate, but at the same time you have to make a living right? There is some families out there have parents working at McDonald's just to have food on the table. They don't like that job, but they need money. Being passionate about your job is a good key for success. Some people further in there schooling to become what they've dreamed about in high school, making them love what they do. They've wanted to do it forever. Passionate makes the day go by smooth and reasonable. You love your job, your going to love the people you work with, and your going to love waking up every morning for it. Not dreading waking up just to go serve people for 8 hours for $8.00 an hour. That's no fun. So I can say I'm more of the person who thinks its good to be passionate about your job, but in the back on my mind, I do believe you have to make money some how right?

2) What are you going to do for the rest of your life? (career wise) and how are you going to get there?
- For the rest of my forbidding, outrageous, bountiful life, I plan to be an Elementary School Teacher. People laugh at me when I say that because they wonder why I like to be around little whiny kids. Well its simple. I love kids. Ive loved kids every since I was young. I'd be the little sister babysitting, or asking for babysitting jobs. I just love them. After high school I plan to go to college and to upgrade my math mark, take the course on Teaching Assistant and then go into University. Ive figured if I don't further my career in Elementary school teaching, i will still have the Teaching assistant course so I'm still able to be in schools with young children. I'm going to push myself to get to be an Elementary school teacher because that is what Ive always wanted to be. I don't want to be one of those moms who has 2 jobs just to survive. I'm the type of girl who loves money, and loves to shop and not being able to have those things would suck. I want the best for my kids, and family, and in order to do so, I'm going to have to push myself into making good choices and pursuing what i want to do.

The All Time Famous Starbucks Drink!
Why is it that most of the world drinks Starbucks, or goes and wastes the money on the drinks and food? when you could go to Tim Horten's and spend half of what you spend at Starbucks. Is it the price, the people, the atmosphere, the cup or is it just the coffee it self. My personal opinion goes to most of what I listed, I love the drinks, the people, well most.. are fantastic to talk to, the atmosphere makes you want to stay and drink, and now the new cups have funky designs on them so they make you look at them, or if your the type of person who buys stuff that looks good. Yes I know you cant buy a Maricano, or a " non fat caramel macciato with extra drizzle" anywhere else that's why we go to Starbucks, but other coffee shops do give you some sort of style drink like that. The price could be a bit crazy, $4.55 for a medium, or almost $5.00 for a large, its nuts but we all do it. They must put something in there coffee to make us come back for more, because its just that addicting.

My most memorable place as a child would take place way back in the day when my best friend of the time Brandi and I found this open lot behind our houses. This house got torn down and there was this huge open space. This place was our very own hide out, place to go when we got in trouble, or just a place to go to get dirty. This magical lot made a whole lot of memories, memories that a child would think back on. This lot was everything. Everyday after school we'd go and hang out, run up and down the hills and have races who could go the fastest. Some guy would dump his old wood there, and we used the wood to build forts, and these forts were are own little sanctuary. Later on during this time period of this open lot, the neighborhood kids started recognizing this party place, and started playing with us. It was nice because right beside, was this home that had raspberry bushes, so if we needed a snack we could snack on the raspberry's. Very useful. We would spend all day just in this big dirt hole, amusing ourselves. Ill never forget the day, it was a beating hot summery day and the guy who I was talking about earlier in the story, dropped on sheets of plywood, and the trees were cut so there was just stumps left, reasonable size stumps. These stumps supported our roof to our fort we built, to stay cool. I remember it stinking like old socks, just rotten smell, but we didn't care. I thought it would be funny to see if the roof would support me if I jumped on it, so what did i do.. I jumped! leaped for it, and WACK! the plywood snapped right in half. Brandi who was viewing what I was doing, was standing off to the side, the plywood flew and hit Brandi in the face, and split her lip wide open!. How did it miss me? I don't know!. Soon the blood started gushing, gushing like the waterfalls as you enter Chillawak on your way to Vancouver. I ran home and my mom was vacuuming the house, and I told her, but was way to nervous to tell Teresa ( her mom ), so my mom did. After all was said and done, I thought we would be banned from our "second home", or even getting in trouble for jumping and sending Brandi to the Hospital. But we didn't. She got her stitches and life carried on. Life was fun, as we continued to play in the dirt.

I'm going to rant about why Wendy's Fast Food Is ingloriously, yet delicious and breath taking. Why do we always eat fast food? Why do we waste away our earnings on food that goes to our thighs? why..why..why...Why is the question?
I'm first going to start off with the Number 6 Classic spiccyy chicken burger. It consists of Lettuce, Tomatoes, and a nice hot juicy chicken breast, Oh but has mayonnaise but minus that. When you take the first bite, its like entering an exotic forest, you don't know what to expect until you stop and take it in. Just like the burger you have to stop and taste what your biting into, because I'm sure you don't want to be biting into uncooked, and pink chicken now do you?. Second on my list would most defiantly have to be the Chicken Nuggets. Mmm mmm. Where to start with those... I suppose there just like the spicy chicken burger, but there little chicken chunks that you eat in smaller bites, these nuggets make my mind blank. For example, right now all I'm thinking about is eating Wendy's chicken nuggets, dipping them in there savory, sweet yet luscious plum sauce. People may not take my side on the nuggets and maybe go toward the Chicken Strips, but those just feel like your momma's made them for you for lunch, after coming in from tanning naked in your back yard. Chicken strips are the definition of BORING in my vocabulary. OK, enough with the Chicken Fiesta, Next I'm going to compliment them on there Ice Tea. Laugh all you want, but there ice tea is the best Ive ever had. Even the Nestea isn't as good as Wendy's Lemon ice tea. Simply Tasteful. The ice tea does the job, and gives your food a smooth way down.
I really don't know what it is hidden in there ice tea, chicken nuggets, and the spicy chicken burger, but whatever it is has me keep wanting more. If I had a Very High metabolism, i would most likely eat chicken burgers, chicken nuggets and drink ice tea everyday. Wendy's is like my Cocaine Drug, People need it everyday to survive, me on the other hand need Wendy's chicken and ice tea.
